Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Bill Pascrell (NJ-09), sent a letter to the Newark Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation raising concerns about reported FBI phone calls and attempts to meet in-person with Syrian refugees. The representatives questioned whether the FBI contact might have an adverse impact on ensuring refugees feel safe and secure in their communities.

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), the Ranking Member on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, led House Democrats in introducing the Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments of 2017 (H.R. 1068). The bill would make comprehensive changes to ensure safer drinking water for communities nationwide. The proposal would be the first major update to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) in over twenty years.

Long Branch, NJ – This week, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced plans to dredge the Sandy Hook Channel and place the dredged sand in the Sea Bright Offshore Borrow Area (SBOBA). The Sandy Hook Channel was last dredged in 2015. The dredged material will be used to replenish the Sea Bright Offshore Borrow Area, which was hit hard during Superstorm Sandy.

“Michael Flynn’s time as National Security Advisor was the shortest in American history, but his resignation was long overdue. Since the White House was informed by the Acting Attorney General weeks ago about Flynn’s engagement with the Russians, it is fair to question whether he would have been forced to step down if not for the public outcry over his conduct.

New Brunswick, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) visited Planned Parenthood in Perth Amboy to show his strong support for comprehensive health care coverage, women’s reproductive rights, and the organization’s mission. Pallone is the Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over health care.

Since the Affordable Care Act was enacted, millions have signed up for health insurance and the percentage of uninsured Americans is at a record low. More than 20 million additional Americans have healthcare, and a million additional enrollees are expected this year. Millions more are benefiting from the law’s many strong provisions, such as a ban on denial of insurance coverage for those with pre-existing conditions and allowing children to stay on their parent’s health insurance until age 26.
