Washington, DC- Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr.'s (NJ-06) bill to increase funding to combat illicit opioid importation today passed the House Energy and Commerce Committee. H.R 5228, the Stop Counterfeit Drugs by Regulating and Enhancing Enforcement Now (SCREEN) Act, will also expand the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) authority to prevent illegally manufactured opioids, such as heroin and fentanyl, from arriving overseas through the mail.

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Rutgers University has been awarded 3 National Science Foundation grants totaling $470,549.

"I know that these grants will support Rutgers' world-renowned research and continue to build on New Jersey's status as a leader in science and innovation," said Pallone. "I will continue to work to ensure that the federal government is supporting the sciences and higher education."

New Brunswick, NJ — On Friday May 11th, after a tour of the New Jersey International Bulk Mail Center, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Congressman Bill Pascrell (NJ-09) and United State Postal Service (USPS) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials discussed the H.R. 5228, Stop Counterfeit Drugs by Regulating and Enhancing Enforcement Now (SCREEN) Act, a bill to increase funding to combat illicit opioid importation. The bill passed the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health last week.

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Rutgers University has been awarded a new National Science Foundation grant of $856,337. The grant will support a project to help students learn to use different kinds of evidence in thinking about and creating models of complex systems. The project transforms the way simulations are used to help students develop scientific practices, epistemologies, and content knowledge within elementary school science classrooms.

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Rutgers University has been awarded a new National Science Foundation grant of $565,343. The grant will support both undergraduate & graduate work to study larvae of bottom-dwelling marine species.

"I am pleased to see Rutgers University, a world renowned research university right here in New Jersey, is receiving federal funding to continue its ground breaking scientific work," said Pallone. "I look forward to seeing results of this research."

New Brunswick, NJ --- Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced the recipients of the prestigious Congressional Award, this year's U.S. Service Academy nominees and the winners of the 2018 Sixth Congressional District High School Arts Competition at a Congressional Awards Ceremony. Students representing several local high schools were honored at the reception, held at Rutgers University. In addition, distinguished guests discussed the importance of the fields recognized.
