Pallone Announces Funding for Community Health Center in Asbury Park
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, announced that the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center will receive a grant of $1,583,709. The funding will be used to help the Center provide comprehensive primary and preventive health services to medically underserved populations.
"I am pleased the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center was awarded a grant to continue its outstanding work serving our communities," said Pallone. "I am especially encouraged because this investment in preventative care will keep New Jersey residents healthy and out of the hospital."
This funding comes from the Affordable Care Act's Community Health Center (CHC) Fund. In his previous role as Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, Pallone played a key role in authoring and passing the Affordable Care Act which created the program.
