Washington, D.C. – U.S. Sens. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) sent a letter today to Bill Roderick, Acting Inspector General (IG) of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), asking his office to answer specific questions regarding the problems surrounding the cleanup of the Ringwood Mines/Landfill Superfund Site and the possible role environmental racism may have played.

Long Branch, NJ --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today voiced concern over a Pentagon decision to send half of New Jersey's National Guard troops and a large portion of their equipment abroad to aid in the war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The New Jersey congressman sent the following letter to Lieutenant General H. Steven Blum, Chief of the National Guard Bureau, asking that the Pentagon reconsider the decision.

Washington, D.C. --- The U.S. House of Representatives today approved an amendment offered by U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Patrick Murphy (D-PA) to the Federal Railroad Safety Improvement Act of 2007 that would give states the authority to regulate solid waste facilities. The amendment was unanimously approved by voice vote.
