Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, introduced legislation yesterday that would correct a new Medicaid reimbursement rule set to take effect on October 1st in order to help ensure that Medicaid beneficiaries continue to have access to their prescription drugs.

The legislation is the work of a bipartisan bicameral agreement that will allow Congress to send President Bush a bill before the September 30th deadline. Pallone spoke in support of the legislation during House floor debate tonight.

Washington, D.C.A bipartisan coalition of Senate and House leaders today announced a bicameral agreement to reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for an additional five years. CHIP provides health coverage to American children whose parents do not qualify for Medicaid, but can’t afford private insurance.
