Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., who has led the fight to ban all new offshore drilling, welcomed the policy reversal announced by the Obama Administration on Wednesday in extending the ban on new offshore drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico and off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.
“Indian Country will finally receive the compensation and resources that it has long been owed,” said Pallone. “Justice has been delayed for too long, but this action begins to reconcile the injustices suffered by Indian Country.”
