Pallone on Launch of Free Saltwater Fishing Registry

May 3, 2011

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) Tuesday released the following statement on the Department of Environmental Protection’s announcement that a free recreational saltwater fishing registry will launch Wednesday. The registry will be available at www.saltwaterregistry.nj.gov.

“This free registry will allow New Jersey to remain the best place to fish in the country. I commend DEP, the governor and the state legislature for acting on behalf of recreational fishermen, the fishing industry and thousands of small business along our coast. As I have said before, fishermen shouldn’t have to pay a fee for this registry which will improve fisheries management and allow recreational fishermen in New Jersey to have free access to one of our state’s most popular past times.
