WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) applauded the Senate for passing the SANDy Act, which will help ensure the resiliency of the nation’s communications networks during emergencies. Pallone first introduced the SANDy Act in November 2015 and helped pass it in the House twice.

The event will provide a forum for students who are interested in attending one of our nation’s prestigious U.S. Service Academies to learn more about the process for admission.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6) announced that his office will be participating in the Congressional App Challenge, an app competition for U.S. high school students. The Challenge submission period will run through November 1, 2017. The competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of the Petitioners in the case – the State of New Jersey and the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association, Inc. The nation’s highest court is expected to review a decision by the Third Circuit Court against the state.

New Brunswick, NJ- Today at Rutgers University Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), local leaders, immigration advocates, Rutgers administrators & students called on President Trump to preserve the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program. The Trump administration announced that it will end the DACA program over a six month timeframe. An end to DACA would put nearly 800,000 DREAMers throughout the U.S. and approximately 22,000 DACA recipients in New Jersey at risk for deportation.

Long Branch, NJ- Today at the Piscataway Senior Center, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) discussed his efforts to lower prescription drug prices. As the Ranking Member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees healthcare, Congressman Pallone is working on legislation that would help reduce the cost of prescription drugs for seniors and working families. Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ron Rios, Piscataway Mayor Brian Wahler, other local officials and seniors attended the event.

Long Branch, NJ –Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent letters to the Acting Administrator for the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and the Deputy Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association (FMCSA), expressing disappointment that the agencies failed to move forward with rulemaking that would allow testing and treatment for sleep apnea for mass transit workers. According to the National Institutes of Health, sleep apnea affects more than 18 million Americans.
