WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced The Old Bridge Township Board of Education was selected to receive rebates for new clean diesel school buses. The rebates are worth up to $30,000 and are part of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) School Bus Replacement Rebate Program.

WASHINGTON DC — Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Ranking Member of the Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Health and U.S. Senators Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) today re-introduced the Cardiomyopathy Health Education, Awareness, Risk Assessment, and Training in the Schools (HEARTs) Act of 2013, legislation to combat Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), the leading cause of death on school property. Cardiomyopathy, one of the causes of SCA, is frequently misdiagnosed and only five percent of those affected survive it.

WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) at Long Branch Fire Station No. 4 and the Sayreville Senior Center will close Saturday, February 9th, at 4 p.m. There have been more than 2,500 visits to the Long Branch and Sayreville disaster recovery centers since they opened, but visits have declined in recent weeks. DRCs are staffed by FEMA representatives and serve as centers for home and business owners to ask questions about and file for disaster assistance.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Craig Fugate today voicing his concerns that the process for New Jersey residents placing claims to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) for damages sustained from Superstorm Sandy is wrought with delays and unnecessarily complicated.

WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that New Jersey was allocated $1,829,520,000 in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds for rebuilding homes and small businesses impacted by Superstorm Sandy. Rep. Pallone’s New Jersey district includes a large stretch of the Jersey Shore and several towns devastated by Superstorm Sandy, like Sea Bright and Union Beach.

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that Marlboro Township was awarded $1.6 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to reimburse the town for debris removal following Superstorm Sandy. Belmar will also receive $4 million from FEMA for debris removal.

NEW JERSEY – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) today sent letters to President Obama to express their concerns regarding the Department of Interior’s (DOI) plan to begin seismic testing off the Atlantic coast. Seismic airgun testing brings the Atlantic coast closer to the risky practice of deepwater oil drilling, the same practice that led to the disastrous Deepwater Horizon Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico three years ago.
