WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Rutgers University has been awarded $550,000 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to continue ongoing research to identify and evaluate changes in the number of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities in the state of New Jersey. The CDC suggests that 1 in 68 school age child in the United States is living with autism. However, in New Jersey, that number is 1 in every 45.
LONG BRANCH, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. announced that, in 2014, he has helped secure over $332,274 for constituents seeking assistance through his district offices. His work on behalf of constituents includes help with Sandy related FEMA grants and claims, SBA loans, Social Security payments, and more. Over the past year, Congressman Pallone’s constituent outreach representatives have made it possible for constituents to cut through red tape in order to receive money that is rightfully owed to them.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium (NJSGC) has been awarded $233,600 to further develop research and educational programs to ensure that New Jersey coastal communities are resilient to the impacts of climate change, as well as future storms. Sea Grant is a nationwide network administered through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of 33 programs based at top research universities that help build resilient coastal communities.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) joined several of his colleagues in calling on Rutgers University and 17 other universities to protect the health of their students by ending practices that allow them to use university debit cards to pay for indoor tanning. In light of Congressman Pallone’s letter, Rutgers University intends to end the practice of allowing their students’ debit cards to pay for indoor tanning by January 1, 2015, and he hopes other universities follow suit.

“Reports of an oil slick off the coast of Sandy Hook are troubling, and I will be closely monitoring this ongoing situation. I will work with local and federal agencies, as well as the local communities, to make sure we minimize any adverse effects of the oil.
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) will receive an additional $7.1 million to continue to fund buyouts and the demolition of flood prone properties in Sayreville and Woodbridge. $3,303,332 has been allocated to continue to buyout and demolish 196 properties in Sayreville and $3,862,563 has been allocated to continue to buyout and demolish 187 properties in Woodbridge.
