Congressman Frank Pallone (NJ-06) today vowed to push the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to ensure that New Jersey does not lose its share of federal funding for the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). New Jersey is danger of losing the federal funding allocated for this program if the state does not use it. Pallone's office is also actively demanding that the Department of Community Affairs and utility companies in New Jersey work together and come to an agreement so that they do not miss the funding deadline.

South Plainfield, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) held a press conference today to highlight upgrades to South Plainfield's emergency response system. Pallone secured $370,725 to modernize the emergency operations center in a federal spending bill that was signed into law last year. The funding will be used to replace equipment and upgrade the Communications and 9-1-1 Center used to coordinate police, fire, and EMS services during emergencies and natural disasters.

Perth Amboy, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today held the first meeting of his Youth Advisory Council in 2023. This program offers high school students in New Jersey's Sixth Congressional District the opportunity to become civically engaged and to share their insight on important issues that are affecting their generation directly with the Congressman. Additionally, members learned more about the role of Congress and heard from Congressman Pallone about what he hopes to accomplish during the 118th Congress.

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today spoke on the House Floor in support of his amendment to prohibit Republicans' plan to open up more oil and gas leasing in the North Atlantic. Pallone offered his amendment as a part of the Strategic Production Response Act – House Republicans' legislative attempt to ban the Department of Energy (DOE) from releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) until it expands oil and gas drilling on public lands by the same percentage that it releases oil from the SPR.

Pallone secured $3 million in a federal spending bill that was signed into law last December. He was joined by Edison Mayor Sam Joshi.

Monmouth, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that Monmouth County will receive $4 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to make critical repairs and improvements to the Belford Ferry Terminal in Middletown. In September 2022, Pallone wrote to DOT to highlight the county's application and urge close consideration.

Washington, D.C. Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) reintroduced the Buy Low and Sell High Act for the 118th Congress today. The legislation creates an Economic Petroleum Reserve designed to continue the trend of falling gasoline prices and make money for American taxpayers by empowering the Department of Energy (DOE) to buy oil when prices are low and sell oil when prices are high.
