Pallone secured $370,725 to modernize the emergency operations center in a federal spending bill that was signed into law last year. The funding will be used to replace equipment and upgrade the Communications and 9-1-1 Center used to coordinate police, fire, and EMS services during emergencies and natural disasters.

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today spoke on the House Floor in support of his amendment to prohibit Republicans' plan to open up more oil and gas leasing in the North Atlantic. Pallone offered his amendment as a part of the Strategic Production Response Act – House Republicans' legislative attempt to ban the Department of Energy (DOE) from releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) until it expands oil and gas drilling on public lands by the same percentage that it releases oil from the SPR.
