In this week's address, the Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee discussed the Trump Administration's continued coronavirus testing failures and the strong testing strategy in The Heroes Act. Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Congressman Max Rose (NY-11) today introduced the Homeless Veterans Credit Repair, Enhancement, and Debt Improvement for Tomorrow (CREDIT) Act to help end veteran homelessness and housing instability. Credit and financial counseling services remain a top ten unmet need for our nation's homeless veterans.

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) denounced reckless military actions conducted by Azerbaijan in a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense Mark Esper. He sent another letter to the Co-Chairs of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group, urging them to condemn the large-scale military exercises currently being held by the Azerbaijani military during the global coronavirus pandemic. Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Heroes Act that includes new protections to keep nursing home patients safe, increases funding for SNAP and other nutrition programs, delivers another round of direct economic stimulus checks to most Americans, and provides funding to state and local governments.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that New Jersey will receive more than $613 million to expand coronavirus testing in the state. The funding was established in the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act that Pallone helped craft in April and was signed into law. It included $25 billion House Democrats successfully fought for to increase testing.

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03) today introduced the Security After Sandy Act that would forgive debt owed to the federal government by municipalities and homeowners recovering from Superstorm Sandy. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) will introduce a companion bill in the Senate.

Long Branch, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that 24 community health centers in New Jersey will receive over $11 million to expand coronavirus testing capacity. The funds will allow the community health centers to purchase personal protective equipment and tests, increase contact tracing, and expand walk-up or drive-thru testing.
