July 17, 2020

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that New Jersey hospitals will receive an additional $597 million from the Provider Relief Fund established in the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that he helped pass in the House of Representatives in March. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced it will begin distributing the relief funding to hospitals in areas highly impacted by COVID-19 cases starting next week. Hospitals in New Jersey's 6th Congressional district will receive over $42.6 million.

Perth Amboy, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that Perth Amboy will receive more than $1 million in grant funding to strengthen emergency response and keep New Jerseyans safe. A $900,000 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Port Security Grant Program will replace the fire department's Marine 5, a 15-year-old dive boat used for the southern part of the Port of New Jersey and New York. Another grant of $45,000 will help maintain the city's police boats, Marine 2, Marine 3, Marine 6, and Marine 7.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the House Democrats' appropriations bill for fiscal year 2021 would ban offshore drilling in the Atlantic Ocean. In May, Pallone sent a letter requesting the drilling ban be included in the proposal, which is expected to be considered by the House of Representatives later this month.

Pallone and his delegation colleagues sent a letter in May requesting the Trump Administration extend existing agreements with pharmacies in New Jersey for at least an additional three months.

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that safety net hospitals in New Jersey will receive over $280 million in relief funding to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement came one day after the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced it would allocate a total of $10 billion to safety net hospitals nationwide who serve a disproportionate number of Medicaid patients or provide large amounts of uncompensated care.
