Washington, D.C. --- The U.S. House of Representatives today approved a giant transportation bill that included $19.4 million for two Rutgers University transportation programs---the National Transit Institute and the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation, said U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), who requested the funds earlier this year.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today secured $3.34 million in federal funds for the design and construction of a new recreational pier in Long Branch. Pallone said he hopes the federal funds will help the city attract additional money from state and other sources to move forward on the project, which is of historical significance to the city.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), co-chairman of the Congressional Coastal Caucus and one of the authors of the Beaches Environmental Assessment Closure and Health (BEACH) Act, today was critical of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for delaying progress on new beach testing methods mandated in the BEACH Act.

Washington, D.C. --- Following recent reports that plans are underway to build a new railroad system connecting Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey that specifically exclude Armenia, U.S. Reps. Joe Knollenberg (R-MI) and Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), co-chairmen of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, last week introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives that explicitly prohibits any U.S. assistance to the project unless Armenia is included.

"Mr. Speaker, yesterday, July 20th, marked the 31st anniversary of an illegal and inexcusable act by Turkey. Thirty-one years ago yesterday Turkish military forces illegally invaded Cyprus, forcing nearly 200,000 Greek Cypriots from their homes. These Greek Cypriots became refugees in their own country, and have remained refugees for the past three decades.
