Washington, D.C. --- The U.S. House of Representatives last night approved the creation of an Armenian Institute at Monmouth University, said U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ). The New Jersey congressman requested $500,000 in federal funding for the establishment of the Institute, as part of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2006 Foreign Operations Appropriations bill.

Washington, D.C. --- The U.S. House of Representatives last night approved $67.5 million in economic assistance and $5.75 million in military assistance to Armenia and up to $5 million in aid for Nagorno Karabakh said U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), co-chairman of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues.

During a speech on the House floor, Pallone lauded the President and his House colleagues for maintaining military assistance parity between Armenia and Azerbaijan, approving $5.75 million for each country.

Washington, D.C. --- As the U.S. House of Representatives prepares to debate a funding bill tomorrow that includes $100 million in cuts for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today called on the House to restore the funds when it takes up the Fiscal Year (FY) Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations bill tomorrow.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Clay Shaw (R-FL), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Coastal Caucus, today introduced a resolution in support of National Clean Beaches Week, to be observed June 27th July 3rd.

The resolution recognizes the importance of Americas beaches as key parts of the countrys economy, natural heritage, and way of life. It also stresses the progress made in recent years to improve our shorelines and the need for strong policy to continue improving the quality of the nations beaches.

Piscataway, N.J. --- With the House Homeland Security Committee set to hold its first hearing on chemical security next Tuesday in Washington, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and New Jersey State Senator Bob Smith (D-Piscataway) hosted a roundtable discussion today to hear from representatives of environmental, industry, labor, and emergency management groups on how best we can protect New Jersey's chemical facilities from potential terrorist attacks.

Edison, NJ --- After taking a tour of the Chemical Insecticide Corporation (CIC) Superfund site today and witnessing the last truckload of contaminated soil being removed from the site, U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) both lauded the completion of the cleanup and expressed their gratitude to the Edison community for helping them fight for federal funding over the past 15 years.

Neptune, N.J. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) held a discussion today with local veterans and students at Neptune High School in Neptune. During the discussion, Pallone also announced the introduction of legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives that encourages a dialogue between students and war veterans.
