Pallone released the following statement after the PFAS Action Act was favorably reported to the full House of Representatives by a vote of 31-19. According to a report, there are 517 water systems in New Jersey that are contaminated with PFAS.
Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) spearheaded the advancement of his legislation to protect U.S. telecommunications systems from foreign interference. The Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act of 2019 instructs the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to develop and maintain a list of communications equipment and services that pose an unacceptable risk to national security and prohibits the use of funds made available by FCC programs to purchase, rent, lease, or otherwise obtain suspect equipment and services.
Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) released the following statement after his bill, the Reversing the Youth Tobacco Epidemic Act, was favorably reported by the Energy and Commerce Committee to the full House of Representatives. The Reversing the Youth Tobacco Epidemic Act would prohibit all flavored tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, increase the minimum age for purchasing tobacco products to 21, ban certain non-face-to-face sales for tobacco products, and protects kids from the marketing of tobacco products.

The Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now Act of 2019 would ban the production, use and importation of asbestos. Pallone's bill also implements a complete ban on the toxic substance one year after the bill's passage.
WASHINGTON — Companies responsible for dumping chemicals again would pay a special tax to clean up polluted sites under legislation introduced Thursday by a powerful New Jersey Democrat.
The tax would fall on corporations, especially those involved in manufacturing chemicals or petroleum products. Such taxes expired in 1995 and Congress has rebuffed efforts to restore them.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Congressman Bill Pascrell (NJ-09) announced the reintroduction of legislation to help the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) clean up sites listed on the Superfund's National Priorities List. The Superfund Polluter Pays Act would reinstate the Superfund tax to make sure polluters pay for the cleanup of Superfund sites – not taxpayers. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey will introduce the companion bill in the Senate.

The Affordable Care Act's Open Enrollment season kicks off today, November 1st, and residents can sign up for health insurance for the upcoming year through December 15, 2019.
