Pallone Encourages New Jersey Residents to Get Covered
Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) released the following statement today encouraging New Jersey residents to sign up for health insurance coverage on Healthcare.gov. The Affordable Care Act’s Open Enrollment season kicks off today, November 1st, and residents can sign up for health insurance for the upcoming year through December 15, 2019.
“Starting today, New Jerseyans can sign up for insurance at Healthcare.gov and those already covered through the marketplace can update their information and compare options between plans.
“The enrollment process is fast and simple, and many will qualify for premium assistance. Last year, eight in ten New Jersey residents purchasing plans in the marketplace received a tax subsidy to lower the cost of their monthly premiums. Plans and prices can change every year, so it’s important everyone review their options to make sure they sign up for the plan that’s right for them. Free help is available to help individuals to walk through their options and enroll in their plan of choice.
“Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, New Jerseyans have better health coverage and health care today than they did before it became law. I encourage everyone to check out their options and sign up to ensure they’re covered for the upcoming year.”
New Jerseyans looking for health coverage can sign up at www.healthcare.gov. If they have questions, they can call 1-800-318-2596, a toll-free hotline open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
