Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (NJ-06) Monday sent the following letter to New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin requesting expedited funding for restoration of the Deal Lake wall in the Village of Loch Arbour, New Jersey.

Currently, the wall is in a state of severe disrepair. As a result of the deterioration flooding has caused sinkholes and obstructed traffic on adjacent roadways. Portions of the lakefront are closed off because the retaining wall is unstable.

Washington, DC – The House of Representatives Thursday voted to approve the Clean Estuaries Act which will improve the health of New Jersey’s water ways and coastal areas, both of which are major economic drivers for the state.

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. announced on Monday the list of witnesses for the congressional hearing on the use of chewing tobacco by young people, the health problems it causes and the influence of professional baseball players who chew tobacco.

Washington, DC – Wednesday U.S. Representative Frank Pallone (NJ-06) and EPA Regional Administrator Judith Enck (Region 2) met to announce the start of testing at the Raritan Bay Slag Superfund site in Old Bridge, NJ. Testing of the site will begin by the end of April and last for three to four weeks.

New Brunswick, NJ - Speaking to Rutgers students and others on Tuesday, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. called the Student Aid bill just approved by Congress "the most significant investment in college affordability in decades at no additional cost to taxpayers."

At the rally called "Victory for Student Aid," Pallone said that taking the banks out of the student loan business we will produce a savings of $61 billion over 10 years that will be used to increase the number and the amount of Pell grants and to fund an improved community college system.
