Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), along with 17 members of Congress, issued the following letter to President Barack Obama today. The letter concerns recent reports that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has excluded shovel-ready beach renourishment projects from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers list of projects to receive funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. announced on Thursday economic recovery funds for New Jersey communities that will create clean energy jobs, reduce energy bills and improve energy efficiency. The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will provide formula grants for projects that reduce total energy use and fossil fuel emissions, and improve energy efficiency.

Washington, D.C. --- Today, Senator Edward Kennedy, Congressmen Frank Pallone and John Dingell introduced the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) Act of 2009 that would create an insurance program for adults who become functionally disabled.

The measure would provide a cash benefit to help obtain services and supports, while providing those with disabilities more choices and opportunities to live and participate in their communities.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (D-NJ) introduced legislation today that places a permanent ban on drilling off the Jersey Shore and all North and Mid-Atlantic states from Maine to North Carolina. The legislation is introduced on the 20th anniversary of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, which damaged 1,300 miles of shoreline with 11 million gallons of crude oil.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced today the release of federal capital improvement grants for housing authorities in New Jersey, including New Brunswick, South Amboy, Edison and Highland Park, that will put people to work improving housing facilities in local communities. Allocated from the Recovery Act, the targeted money will give housing agencies the resources to rebuild and repair public housing units, creating jobs and improving energy efficiency in the process.

Washington, DC --- A bipartisan group of lawmakers, including U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), a senior member of the House Insular Affairs, Oceans and Wildlife Subcommittee, and U.S. Rep. John Adler (D-NJ), today introduced The Flexibility in Rebuilding American Fisheries Act of 2009. The legislation will bring much-needed flexibility to the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Reauthorization Act of 2007.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced today that the Nutrition Program for the Elderly in New Jersey will receive $2.7 million to help senior citizens maintain their health and independence. The funding is provided through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama in February.

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced today that the Edison Rail Station Park and Ride will receive $11 million to expand the station's parking lot by 500 spaces. The funding is provided through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, which provided New Jersey Transit with $342 million for transit projects in northern and central New Jersey.
