Washington, D.C. --- In an effort to improve access to quality medical care for nearly two million American Indians and Alaska Natives, U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Nick J. Rahall (D-WV), Dale E. Kildee (D-MI), Don Young (R-AK) and Mary Bono Mack (R-CA) today introduced long-overdue legislation to reauthorize the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA) – the cornerstone federal law that directs the delivery of health services to these communities.

WASHINGTON, DC — Today Chairman Henry A. Waxman, Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations Chairman Bart Stupak, and Subcommittee on Health Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr., wrote to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requesting the agency to reexamine its decision in December to approve a medical device manufactured by ReGen Biologics, Inc. over the objection of FDA scientists.

Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Rush Holt (D-NJ) announced today that the Middlesex County Improvement Authority will receive $1 million to help clean up contaminated and polluted sites. The funding comes from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Brownfields Program.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez and U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. applauded the administration's policy change to allow beach replenishment projects to compete for funding in the budget. However, they expressed concern that the administration's Fiscal Year 2010 budget only allocated $45 million for beach replenishment projects nationwide, an amount the Army Corps of Engineers' could use for New Jersey projects alone.
