WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. sent a letter to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) expressing his concern over preliminary estimates of summer flounder catch made during the 2013 summer.

“There continues to be a troubling lack of confidence among fishermen and many fisheries managers in the data produced by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and these estimates may reinforce the criticisms weighed against NOAA’s data collection program.” said Pallone.

LONG BRANCH, NJ—Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. visited the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monmouth County’s Asbury Park Unit where he toured the facility, observed fitness programs and took part in a juice tasting of juices made by kids. Pallone also discussed the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and lauded the Boys and Girls Club’s Triple Play program, which is designed to (1) educate youth about good nutrition, (2) make physical fitness a daily practice and (3) develop individual strengths and good character.

LONG BRANCH, NJ—Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced federal funding for the cleanup of lakes and waterways affected by Superstorm Sandy in Monmouth and Middlesex Counties. Pallone announced that several lakes, creeks and brooks throughout the Sixth Congressional District will receive federal dollars to cover 90% of the cost of cleanup and restoration work through the National Resources Conservation Service’s Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program, a part of the U. S. Department of Agriculture.

Long Branch, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) visited Community Affairs and Resources Center in Asbury Park, where trained Health Insurance Marketplace Navigators from the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties are available to answer questions and assist families and individuals sign up for health insurance. Pallone visited with the staff and consumers signing up through the new marketplace.

Long Branch, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced a $3,649,907 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to repair damage sustained to the Asbury Park Boardwalk as a result of Superstorm Sandy. The grant will cover 90% of the cost of the project. An estimated 66,000 square feet of the boardwalk was damaged during last October’s storm.
