WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) announced that the Middlesex County Utilities Authority will receive more than $10.8 million in federal funding for continued projects as a result of Superstorm Sandy. The funding is being provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) via the Sandy aid package Pallone fought for in Congress.

The Magnuson-Stevens Act is the main law governing fisheries management in the United States. The legislation, originally enacted in 1976, was most recently reauthorized in 2006.

Construction on the project will move forward in the coming months.

LIHEAP assists eligible individuals and families by providing a benefit that goes toward lowering their heating and cooling bills. PRAB handles all LIHEAP applications for Middlesex County.
NL Industries ordered to pay $79M to remediate lead contamination
(NEWARK, NJ) – U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) today praised the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for directing NL Industries to conduct a $79 million cleanup at the Raritan Bay Slag Superfund site in Old Bridge and Sayreville. Soil and sediment at the site were found to be contaminated with lead-containing waste that was used to construct a seawall and jetty at the popular beach.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) admonishing his administration’s elimination of New Jersey’s Comprehensive Tobacco Control Program. Programs like this serve as a statewide effort to establish smoke-free policies, help tobacco users quit smoking, and prevent potential users from becoming addicted. The funding for the New Jersey’s Tobacco Control Program, first slashed completely in Fiscal Year 2013, remains at zero for Fiscal Year 2014.
