WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, and Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA), Chairman of the Health Subcommittee, introduced legislation, the Designer Anabolic Steroid Control Act (H.R. 4771), to crack down on bodybuilding products that contain chemical compounds known as anabolic steroids and are often deceptively marketed as dietary supplements.
WASHINGTON, DC —Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) will receive $10 million to buyout and demolish 98 additional flood prone properties in Woodbridge, New Jersey. The funding is being provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) via the Sandy aid package that Pallone fought for in Congress. This grant comes in addition to a previous $3 million allocation that contributed to the buyout and demolition of 89 other properties in Woodbridge.

The 26 mayors represent some of the hardest hit areas affected by the Superstorm.
HAZLET, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) visited the CVS/pharmacy in Hazlet, New Jersey to call on chain pharmacies across the country to stop selling cigarettes and tobacco products in their stores. The tobacco epidemic is still threatening individual and public health in the Unites States, with millions of adults in this country dying prematurely every year as a result of smoking.
HAZLET, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) toured the International Flavors & Fragrances, Inc. (IFF) facility in Hazlet, New Jersey. Congressman Pallone met with IFF management team and employees. He also visited the facility’s plant and took a tour of the company’s solar field, which IFF developed at their Hazlet facility with GeoPeak, a New Jersey-based leader in solar energy. Under a 15-year solar power purchase agreement, IFF will provide the land for and purchase all of the electricity from the solar installation.
PORT MONMOUTH, NJ — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $17.7 million contract for the first phase of the Port Monmouth Coastal Storm Risk Management Project to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company of Oak Brook, Illinois. The project will reduce the risks that coastal storms pose to residents and businesses in the Port Monmouth area. The project will be federally funded through the Sandy relief package that Pallone fought for and helped to pass in Congress in January 2013.
