NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – This week in Plainsboro, NJ, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) hosted a roundtable focused on the biotech and pharmaceutical industries based in New Jersey. The roundtable also focused on the importance of diversity in the innovation economy. The discussion was one of many taking place throughout the nation as House Democrats work to craft an Innovation Agenda 2.0.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6) announced that his office will be participating in the Congressional App Challenge, an app competition for U.S. high school students. The Challenge submission period will run from July 18, 2016 through November 2, 2016. The competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience. Students can learn more about the competition here.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Congressman Robert Dold (IL-10), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, applauded the German Bundestag, lower house of parliament, for overwhelmingly passing a resolution declaring the killings of Armenians by the government of the Ottoman Empire in 1915 a genocide.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) discussed the importance of the Securing Access to Networks in Disasters Act – or the SANDy Act – at a cell phone tower in Edison, NJ. Last week, the SANDy Act passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 389-2 and was introduced in the Senate.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) applauded the introduction of the Securing Access to Networks in Disasters Act – or the SANDy Act- in the Senate by U.S. Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Charles Schumer (D-NY). Earlier this week the SANDy Act passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 389-2.

Long Branch, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the United States Postal Service will resume mail carrier operations at the Oceanport Post Office on June 1, 2016. The Oceanport Post Office was temporarily closed after a fire in July of 2015. The Oceanport Post Office reopened in late January of this year, but mail carriers continued to report out of the Monmouth Beach Post Office.

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Congressman Bill Pascrell (NJ-09) demanded that FEMA take swift action to process claims for victims of Hurricane Sandy in a meeting with Roy Wright, Deputy Associate Administrator for Insurance and Mitigation at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in Pallone’s Washington, DC office. At the meeting Wright stated that FEMA would have the unprocessed claims finished by the end of the summer.
