Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Asbury Park will receive two grants from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Brownfields Program, totaling $400,000. The community-wide hazardous substances grant funds will be used to conduct environmental site assessments, and prepare two cleanup plans. The funds will also be used to support community outreach activities.

The legislation includes an amendment which would effectively undo President Obama’s landmark 2014 executive order banning all federal contractors from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Pallone criticized House Republicans for providing less than one-third of the funds requested by President Obama to respond to the Zika threat and playing politics with an urgent public health issue.

The rule makes more than 130,000 additional New Jersey workers eligible for extra pay by guaranteeing overtime pay to most salaried workers earning less than an estimated $47,476 a year.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention announced that in 2015, the uninsured rate fell to 9.1 percent nationwide and 6.9 percent in New Jersey, down from 14.4 percent and 17.5 percent in 2013. The drop in uninsured Americans is largely the result of the Affordable Care Act's (ACA) consumer protections, the Medicaid expansion, and the creation of the Health Insurance Marketplace. Pallone also asked that the pending applications for seismic testing before NOAA be denied.
