Highland Park, N.J. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) held a press conference with local leaders to discuss the urgent need to pass legislation he introduced that would fully ban asbestos. He was joined by Dr. H. Richard Alexander, Chief Surgical Officer at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, C.J. Gesemyer from the Insulators Local 89, Tom Klukosky from United Auto Workers Region 9, Council Member Stephany Kim-Chohan from Highland Park, and Mike Schneider from Insulators Local 32.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, announced the introduction of H.R. 2533, the Providing Financial Assistance for Safe Drinking Water Act ("PFAS Drinking Water Act") today. The new legislation delivers sweeping investments for water infrastructure, creating a grant program to upgrade the country's drinking water systems with treatment technology that can remove perfluorinated compounds (PFAS).

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and the full New Jersey Congressional delegation sent a bipartisan letter to Department of Interior Secretary David Bernhardt demanding that the Department permanently withdraw plans to conduct offshore oil and gas exploration in the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. Long Branch, N.J. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) wrote today to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to request a briefing on the efforts CDC is taking to educate the public and prevent heat illnesses among youth athletes. Pallone's letter comes in the wake of several of these avoidable tragedies, including one affecting a family in his home state of New Jersey.

EDISON, N.J. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced the introduction of the Reversing the Youth Tobacco Epidemic Act of 2019 today. Pallone unveiled the legislation at J.P. Stevens High School today alongside public health advocates. The new legislation aims to address the sharp rise in use of tobacco and e-cigarette products among young people.

Long Branch, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and New Jersey environmental and business community leaders met at the Asbury Park boardwalk to denounce the Trump Administration's efforts to expand offshore oil and gas drilling and seismic testing to the Atlantic Ocean. In the coming weeks, the Trump Administration is likely to release a new plan for the National Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program (National OCS Program) for 2019-2024 that will allow drilling and hazardous potential oil spills along the Jersey Shore.
