Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to Acting Director Matthew Albence at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) regarding inhumane and illegal treatment of transgender asylum seekers. The Trump Administration has refused to uphold its legal duty to provide protection for transgender migrants who have a credible fear of persecution and has failed to adhere to the 2015 ICE memorandum on the Care of Transgender Detainees. Pallone was joined by 33 of his colleagues who also signed the letter.

Highland Park, N.J. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) gave an update on legislative progress to combat the surprise medical bills patients receive after emergency room or hospital care. He was joined by local leaders and health care advocates. Last week, Pallone's bill, the No Surprises Act, passed out of Pallone's Energy and Commerce Committee with unanimous support.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ-06), Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09), and Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA-03) announced the National Flood Insurance Program Reauthorization and Reform (NFIP Re) Act of 2019. The bill protects policyholders from steep premium increases and reauthorizes the NFIP for five years. It also makes the program more affordable, creates greater transparency, and injects fairness into the claims process.

Marlboro, N.J. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded a grant for Marlboro Township to stabilize flood-prone Pleasant Valley Road. The grant allocates over $400,000 to secure the rapidly eroding foundation of Pleasant Valley between Igoe Road and Route 34. FEMA's Pre-Disaster Mitigation Grant Program is designed to help communities like Marlboro reduce potential hazards before extreme flood events. Every federal dollar spent on disaster mitigation saves an average of six dollars in future costs.

South Amboy, N.J. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today highlighted progress on his bipartisan legislation to address the dangers of robocalls. He was joined by business and consumer advocate leaders at a technology firm that works to stop robocalls. In 2018, Americans received an estimated 47.8 billion robocalls. Last May, consumers received an estimated 20 million robocalls in the 732 area code alone.

Long Branch, N.J. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) joined environmental advocates and tourism leaders to mark progress in the fight to block offshore drilling and highlight the high cost to New Jersey's economy and environment should the Trump Administration proceed with drilling. In 2017, President Trump signed an executive order that supports offshore oil and gas drilling along the East Coast. On June 25, Pallone secured House passage of an amendment that prohibits federal spending to advance oil and gas leasing in the Atlantic Ocean.
