Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that South Amboy will receive $6,018,000 to construct a floating dock system for the city’s intermodal passenger ferry terminal. The funding comes from the Passenger Ferry Grant Program through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA).

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today issued a statement following reports of oil and tar balls off the coast of Long Branch and Monmouth Beach. Pallone’s office confirmed that the U.S. Coast Guard will conduct a fly over to ensure contamination is localized. The Coast Guard will also lead official cleanup activities beginning today and will conduct sample testing to attempt to determine the source of the contamination.

MONMOUTH BEACH, NJ—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced the next phase of beach replenishment and dredging projects in Monmouth County. Pallone secured $26 million for maintenance dredging of the federal channels along the Shrewsbury and Navesink Rivers in a federal spending bill for Fiscal Year 2023 that President Biden signed into law late last year.

NEPTUNE, NJ—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) held a press conference today at Jersey Shore University Medical Center to announce legislation he is introducing this week to ban water beads marketed for kids. Water beads are colorful, water-absorbing balls that are sold as children’s toys and often look like candy. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), they are a danger to young children and can be deadly if swallowed.

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced new federal funding to support public safety and strengthen law enforcement in Middlesex County. New Brunswick will receive $987,102 to hire 8 law enforcement officers, and Carteret will receive $625,000 to hire 5 law enforcement officers. The funding is provided through the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) COPS Hiring Program that supports the hiring and retention of law enforcement.

New Brunswick, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) joined the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today to announce which New Jersey communities will participate in a major new initiative to accelerate progress toward the Biden-Harris Administration’s goal of 100 percent lead service line removal and replacement. The communities in the state selected for the program include Blackwood, Clementon, East Newark, Harrison, Keansburg, Keyport, New Brunswick, Ventnor, Camden, and Trenton.
