Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. Thursday released the following statement recognizing the sacrifices and bravery of New Jersey’s veteran’s in honor of Veterans Day Friday, November 11, 2011.

“As today’s veterans return from deployment it’s important we continue to fulfill the same promises to them as we have to past generations and that we also respond to the unique needs veterans face today as they reenter civilian life. Will Introduce Bill to Ensure Approved Sports Betting Referendum is Implemented

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. said when it comes to professional sports betting in New Jersey, the voters spoke yesterday and 2:1 voted to allow sports betting at casinos and racetracks. Pallone added that the federal government or any other entity that attempts to block implementation of this vote will not be tolerated.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. Monday wrote National Park Service Director Jon Jarvis requesting more information about the difference in fees collected at other National Parks in Gateway National Recreation Area. Pallone reiterated his opposition to a proposed fee increase at Sandy Hook and also requested more information regarding a timeline for the park’s decision making process.

WASHINGTON, DC— Today Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Henry A. Waxman and Health Subcommittee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. sent a letter to Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig and Major League Baseball Players Association Executive Director Michael Weiner urging them to include in their new collective bargaining agreement both testing for HGH and a ban on smokeless tobacco by players in the dugout and on the field.

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. on Tuesday said he welcomed the decision by the Bank of America to retreat from its practice of charging for the use of consumer debit cards and said he hoped the bank's decision will signal other banks to refrain from imposing a "surcharge on working people." Pallone wrote to the president of the Bank of America on October 7th urging him to back away from the five dollar monthly fee for those with less than $20,000 in their bank accounts.
