New Brunswick, NJ - Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr’s District Office in New Brunswick today hosted a local student as part of the annual National Groundhog Job Shadow Day, which allows young people to shadow mentors in the workplace and experience hands-on-learning. Quintyia Buttram, who participates in a computer certification program through the Edison Job Corps, shadowed Congressman Pallone’s staff for the day to learn how a congressional district office operates and serves constituents.
“Thanks to this grant, the Atlantic Highlands First Aid and Safety Squad will have more resources for training and equipment so they may continue to provide valuable, free medical services in the community,” said Pallone.

Trenton, N.J. – On Monday January 23, 2012, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr.(NJ-06) stood with NJ State Senators Raymond Lesniak (NJ-20), Jim Whelan (NJ-02) and Jeff Van Drew (NJ-01) at the New Jersey State House to announce legislation he is introducing that will open sports betting to New Jersey. The bill will exclude New Jersey from the federal prohibition on professional and amateur sports gambling.
Middletown, N.J. – During a tour of the Navesink Hook & Ladder Co. fire station in Middletown today Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. announced a grant for nearly half a million dollars to help ensure the safety of the Middletown community. The $465,320 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) will be used to purchase new radios to replace equipment made obsolete by new Federal Communications Commission standards, ensuring the department's members can communicate effectively with each other and the dispatch center.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that two separate grants have been awarded to New Jersey for the repair and reconstruction of local highways and roads damaged by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee last year. A grant of $64,695,620.00 was awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation for road repairs and an additional grant for $24,490,436.00 was awarded to deal specifically with flooding damage.
WASHINGTON D.C.—Today, Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. (NJ-06) announced grants awarded under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program to the Asbury Park and Plainfield Fire Departments totaling $932,500.
“Thanks to these grants, both the Asbury Park and Plainfield Fire Departments will have the resources they need to purchase vehicles and equipment that will modernize their fleets and save lives,” said Pallone.
