Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone (NJ-06) joined a discharge petition to force the House to vote on bipartisan legislation establishing an independent, outside commission to investigate the Trump-Russia connection and possible collusion to interfere in the presidential election.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today sent a letter to Acting Solicitor General of the U.S. Jeff Wall strongly recommending that he endorse the review by the U.S. Supreme Court of the New Jersey sports betting case. The request came after the U.S. Supreme Court asked for advice from the Solicitor General’s office about whether or not 130 cases, including the New Jersey case, warranted review by the nation’s highest court.

New Brunswick - Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded Rutgers University $865,430 through the Special Education Research Program. Rutgers will use the funds to study the effectiveness of training for behavioral support providers, in order to ensure teachers and paraprofessionals have the tools necessary to support children with behavior disorders.

Washington, DC -Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and a bipartisan group of the New Jersey Congressional delegation sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke opposing President Trump's plans for offshore drilling in the Atlantic Ocean. The signers urged Zinke to consider the severe economic and environmental impacts oil and gas development in the Atlantic would have on New Jersey.

Washington, DC – This week, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) expressed support for a potential compromise between the State of New Jersey and Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) on Summer Flounder Cuts. ASMFC agreed to consider a proposal by the State for conservationally-equivalent management measures for the 2017 summer flounder fishery, and is expected to reach a decision in the next two weeks. In exchange for a 104-day fishing season and the 3 bag limit, the size limit would be decreased to 18 inches.

Washington, D.C. – Today in Carteret, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) unveiled legislation to invest in America’s infrastructure, create jobs and modernize our economy for the 21st century. Congressman Pallone’s bill provides for funding for a comprehensive 21st Century infrastructure package including key areas such as broadband, drinking water, healthcare, the electric grid, brownfield redevelopment and renewable energy.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today announced the recipients of the prestigious Congressional Award, this year’s U.S. Service Academy nominees and the winners of the 2017 Sixth Congressional District High School Arts Competition at a Congressional Awards Ceremony. Students representing several local high schools were honored at the reception, held at Rutgers University. In addition, distinguished guests discussed the importance of the fields recognized.

New Brunswick, NJ –Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) denounced the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) for detaining four Indonesian men who have taken sanctuary at the Reformed Church of Highland Park. The Indonesian nationals are ethnic Chinese Christians, who fled from religious persecution in the 1990s. In 2002, in response to the 9/11 attacks, the Bush Administration introduced a program requiring certain individuals primarily from Muslim countries to register in the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS).
