WOODBRIDGE, NJ– Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) participated in Google’s Online Safety Roadshow, an innovative program designed to teach young adults how to stay safe on the internet, at Fords Middle School in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Congressman Pallone highlighted the importance of carefully considering what is being shared with others online and the lasting impacts that even seemingly small actions can have on the internet.

BELFORD, NJ – Today Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) visited the Belford Seafood Cooperative to highlight the potentially damaging impacts of seismic testing off the coast of New Jersey. Congressman Pallone specifically addressed concerns regarding the application recently submitted to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) to conduct marine seismic surveys off the coast of New Jersey. NMFS has proposed granting permission for the tests that would potentially be conducted this summer.

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the Army Corps of Engineers has awarded the contract for dredging Shoal Harbor and Compton Creek in Belford, New Jersey. The $2 million contract has been awarded to M.E.R.I.T. Inc., a small business located in Newark, New Jersey. The project will be completed with federal funds from the Sandy relief package passed by Congress in January 2013.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Congressman Michael Grimm (NY-11), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, welcomed members of the Armenian community to Capitol Hill to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The event included remarks by Members of Congress and community leaders, honoring the bravery of those who perished in and survived the Armenian Genocide and highlighting current efforts to properly reaffirm this crime against humanity.

WASHINGTON D.C.—Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) called for increased transparency from the Christie Administration in its dealings with the contractors responsible for administering Superstorm Sandy relief funds. Pallone cited recent media reports that the Christie Administration has expanded the role of an existing contractor that will now oversee the distribution of Sandy aid dollars previously managed by Hammerman and Gainer Inc.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to Dr. Kathryn Sullivan, Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, expressing his concern that the results of new proposed seismic testing off the coast of New Jersey could potentially be used to open up the Atlantic Ocean to oil and gas exploration.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. (D-NJ), along with 27 members of Congress, sent the following letter today to Chairwoman Kay Granger and Ranking Member Nita Lowey of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on the Department of State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs. In preparing the Fiscal Year 2015 State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations bill, the lawmakers are requesting that the subcommittee support increased funding for U.S. assistance to Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representatives Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Michael Grimm (NY-11), co-chairs of the Congressional Armenia Caucus, along with Representatives Adam Schiff (CA-28) and David Valadao (CA-21), co-sponsors of the Armenian Genocide resolution, sent a letter to President Barack Obama to express their serious concerns regarding reports that Islamist rebels entering from Turkey were involved in attacks this past weekend in the Latakia region of Syria, specifically the town of Kessab, a predominately Armenian populated area.
