Long Branch, NJ- Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced that Union Beach will move forward with a $287 million flood control project. A Project Partnership Agreement (PPA) for the project was signed by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and USACE this week. The signing of the PPA allows USACE to move forward on the actual construction phase of the project.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) reintroduced legislation to prevent so-called clawbacks of federal disaster assistance from victims of Superstorm Sandy. These efforts to retake money distributed after Sandy revictimize those who suffered the most when Sandy struck just over five years ago. The Congressional leaders originally introduced this legislation in 2015 in response to recoupment letters sent by the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) to recover what it considered overpayments.
Washington, DC - Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) led a bipartisan letter with members of the New Jersey’s Congressional delegation expressing their support for Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey's application for recognition as a National Cancer Institute (NCI)- Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Originally recognized as an NCI-Designated cancer center in 1997, the Rutgers Cancer Institute is one of only 49 such centers nationwide, and the only one in the entire state of New Jersey.
New Brunswick, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that the Carteret Housing Authority and Middlesex County Utilities Authority have received grants of $1,944,531.44 and $5,281,846.43 respectively, to reimburse them for recovery efforts in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. The grants will reimburse Carteret for repairs to public housing, while the Middlesex County grant will defray the cost of repairs and effective mitigation to protect the Edison Pump Station.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) will introduce a comprehensive gaming bill, the Gaming Accountability and Modernization Enhancement Act, or GAME Act, which allows states to legalize sports betting and online gambling if appropriate consumer protections are also in place. The GAME Act would provide states with the legal framework to adopt sports betting at their discretion.
New Brunswick, N.J. – Today in Perth Amboy, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) met with local advocates and leaders to discuss his Energy and Commerce Committee Delegation trip to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands over the weekend.
