Long Branch, NJ - Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) held a press conference today in Long Branch with local environmental advocates on the historic climate achievements in the Inflation Reduction Act. The bill is the single-largest investment in climate action in American history and includes key climate provisions originally authored by Pallone or advanced through his Energy and Commerce Committee. Pallone managed the bill on the House Floor.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the Army Corps of Engineers will begin beach replenishment this fall in Elberon. Pallone met with the Army Corps in January to advocate for this project. The federal funding comes from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which Pallone pushed for last year. The Army Corps will place 1.2 million cubic yards of sand from Takanassee Lake south in Elberon. Work is expected to begin in late November or early December.

South Amboy, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. and Mayor Fred Henry today announced that South Amboy will receive $4.9 million to help rebuild the city's infrastructure. The federal funding comes from the American Rescue Plan that House Democrats passed and President Biden signed into law in 2021. The funds are distributed through the Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA).

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Congressman Paul Tonko (NY-20) today called on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan to ensure that the funding to replace lead services lines in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is equitably allocated to underserved communities, including those in New Jersey and New York. Environmental advocates in New Jersey also share their concern that funding from the law should be distributed equitably.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that New Jersey will receive a total of $18,915,000 in preparedness grants, including $13,192,649 for security enhancements at 91 nonprofits and faith organizations in the state. The funding is provided through the Department of Homeland Security's Nonprofit Security Grant Program's (NSGP) Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) that supports physical security enhancements and coordination activities for nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of a terrorist attack.

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) applauded the inclusion of the Superfund tax on oil and petroleum companies in the Inflation Reduction Act. The reinstatement of the tax is effective January 1, 2023. The tax is expected to raise $11.7 billion. Pallone has long advocated for reinstating the tax on these companies to ensure polluters, not taxpayers, foot the bill for cleaning up waste and pollution.

The bill will lower prescription drug costs for seniors by finally empowering Medicare to negotiate the cost of prescription drugs, capping the amount seniors pay at $2,000 annually, and capping the amount seniors pay for insulin at $35 per month.
