Pallone Announces Guest for State of the Union Address

February 7, 2023

Washington, DCCongressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced today that Beatrice Moskowitz of Metuchen will join him in Washington for President Biden's State of the Union Address to Congress tonight. She currently serves on the Middlesex County Children's Council and the Middlesex County Committee for Nurses and Health. She also is a Medicare beneficiary and collects Social Security.

"I'm proud that Beatrice will be my guest for the State of the Union this year. As a longtime advocate for important issues in Middlesex County, she has helped make New Jersey a better place to live. As a Medicare and Social Security beneficiary, she is a prime example of what's at stake if Republicans act on their promise to cut Social Security and Medicare so they can fund tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy and well-connected," Pallone said. "President Biden will make it clear that Democrats are focused on lowering costs and improving the lives of Americans and will always fight to protect Medicare and Social Security that seniors like Beatrice have earned through their hard work."

"It's an honor to join Congressman Pallone for President Biden's State of Union address this week. Democrats are lowering health care and prescription drug costs for Americans, cutting health insurance premiums for people who buy insurance on their own, capping out-of-pocket drug costs for seniors, and giving Medicare the power to negotiate lower prices. These policies are a win-win for people like me in New Jersey who depend on Medicare," Ms. Moskowitz said. "Instead of working to build on this progress, House Republicans have said repeatedly that they plan to cut Medicare and Social Security. I hope by being here tonight, House Republicans can see firsthand the people whose livelihoods they want to destroy."
