Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ,) co-chairman of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, made the following statement yesterday on the floor of the House of Representatives referencing the Turkish war trials at the end of World War I, in which top Turkish government officials were found guilty of genocide. This is the third in a series of speeches the New Jersey congressman plans to give on the House floor in an effort to continue to build support for the Armenian Genocide Resolution.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced today that the Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill includes report language calling on the Surface Transportation Board (STB) to immediately clarify that waste transfer facilities are subject to state and local environmental regulations.

Washington, D.C. --- Today, six New Jersey lawmakers sent the Government Accountability Office (GAO) a four page document from Fort Monmouth outlining how integral C4ISR is to the Global War on Terror. The six lawmakers wanted GAO Comptroller General David M. Walker to have a copy of this document as GAO continues its initial investigation into the closure of Fort Monmouth.

Washington, DC --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today said he opposes plans by the Coast Guard to make the Shark River Coast Guard Station, in Avon-by-the-Sea, a seasonal station. The changes would mean the station, which is currently open year-round, would instead open a week before Memorial Day and close September 30th each year.
