Pallone Lauds $44 Million for Energy Efficiency Projects in New Jersey
Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., issued the following statement today following an announcement by U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu that 65 New Jersey communities would receive more than $44 million in funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for energy efficient projects. The funds are being awarded under the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficient and Conservation Block Grant Program.
“This is yet another example of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act at work, creating jobs and investing in energy solutions for the future,” Pallone said. “This funding will help set America on a path towards energy independence and create the infrastructure we need for 21st century industries and 21st century jobs. Local communities can now invest in clean energy technologies that will lower energy use, reduce carbon emissions and strengthen our economy by creating clean energy jobs.”
