WASHINGTON, DCCongressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, made the following statement on Senate passage today of legislation to reform the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the BEACH Act is funded at $9.549 million in the omnibus spending bill, a victory for New Jersey beach goers and the state’s tourist economy. Earlier this year, Pallone led a letter to the Appropriations Committee calling for the funding of the program, despite the President’s fiscal year 2016 budget proposal zeroing out funding for the program.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, with the release of the omnibus spending bill, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, applauded the inclusion of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Reauthorization Act. As an original co-sponsor of the bill and as the lead Democrat on the Committee of jurisdiction, Pallone has been integral in advancing the bill and was responsible for negotiating the final language for permanent reauthorization within the omnibus spending bill.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Rutgers University will be the recipient of significant federal grant funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for a study on the impacts of climate change on fish stocks and fisheries. Rutgers will lead or be involved with three of the seven projects, which will receive a total of $5 million.

Garfield, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced legislation he introduced to help the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) cleanup sites listed on the Superfund’s National Priority List. The Superfund Polluter Pays Act would reinstate the Superfund tax to ensure polluters, not taxpayers, pay for the cleanup of Superfund sites.
