Long Branch, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) held a press conference in Asbury Park to advocate for legislation he has introduced to provide additional funding to the EPA’s Brownfields Program, which will help clean up and redevelop brownfields sites across the country. The event took place at a lot next to Springwood Avenue Park, which is being assessed for cleanup and redevelopment with a portion of a $400,000 Brownfields Grant that was awarded to Asbury Park in May.

Jarvis urging the NPS to withdraw its proposal to increase Sandy Hook’s camping and parking fees starting next year. In the letter Pallone called on NPS to hold a public hearing on the fee increases and provide information on the fee differences between Sandy Hook and other parks.

WASHINGTON, DC —Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded the New Jersey Department of Education $917,732 as part of the State Personnel Development Program. New Jersey will use the funds to improve services for students with disabilities through educator training programs and the recruitment and retention of qualified special education teachers.

The SAFER program is a part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. Funds under the SAFER program are intended to support the hiring of firefighters and the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters.
Long Branch, NJ --- Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $13,696,687.00 contract for the Hurricane and Storm Damage Reduction Project in Port Monmouth. The contract will help fulfill the project’s second phase, which includes constructing a system of levees, a floodwall, a tide gate, road closure structures, road raising and pump stations. The funding is part of the $110 million allocated for Port Monmouth in the Sandy relief package that Pallone worked to secure in 2013.
