Washington, D.C. – Energy and Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) delivered the following remarks during a Health Subcommittee markup on his amendment that urged the Committee to hold at least one hearing on the status and welfare of the children separated from their families as a result of the Trump Administration's "Zero Tolerance" policy. The Pallone amendment failed to pass after all Subcommittee Republicans voted against it unanimously:

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Rutgers University has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant of $336,900 and a Health and Human Services (HHS) Grant of $339,063. The NSF grant is titled "Observing the Cosmic Evolution of Neutral Hydrogen" and will support the training of graduate and undergraduate students by providing additional experience in computation and statistics, research mentorship, education in STEM disciplines, and outreach to a variety of audiences.

Washington, D.C. – Energy and Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) announced the Compassionate Calling and Immigrant Family Reunification Act of 2018 today to put an end to the abusive practice of charging detained immigrant parents extortionary rates to use the phone to either contact their children that have been separated from them and placed in detention facilities or to contact federal agencies to learn where their children are being held.

"While I hope today's order puts an end to the barbaric separation of families at the border, I am concerned that these families will continue to face cruel and inhumane treatment at the hands of the Trump Administration.

Washington, D.C. – All 24 Energy and Commerce Democrats sent a letter to full Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) and Health Subcommittee Chairman Michael Burgess (R-TX) today demanding an immediate hearing on the wellbeing of the children being forcibly separated from their parents and families and placed into the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).

South Amboy, N.J. – Today at TelTech, a South Amboy startup working to combat robocalls, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and consumer advocates discussed the urgent need to enact legislation stopping unwanted robocalls. Pallone has introduced the Stopping Bad Robocalls Act (H.R. 6026), which will widen the definition of a robocall and strengthen enforcement provisions. The Stopping Bad Robocalls Act is in part a response to a recent D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today led a letter to Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT) ,Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, and to Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ), Ranking Member of the House Natural Resources Committee, expressing strong opposition to Republican legislation that would penalize states like New Jersey, who have responded to their coastal community's demands by effectively banning oil and gas development off of state shores.
