Washington, D.C. – Representatives Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-14), and Gus Bilirakis (FL-12) today led a group of 16 bipartisan Members of Congress in condemning the Republic of Turkey's reckless actions in the Eastern Mediterranean that have increased tensions between North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) members. In a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, the Members urged the Trump Administration to condemn the actions and work with the United States' regional partners to de-escalate the tension.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today called for an end to the Trump Administration's sabotage of the U.S. Postal Service at a press conference at the Long Branch Post Office. He was joined by local elected officials and a representative from the New Jersey State Association of Letter Carriers.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today demanded JCP&L reimburse customers for food and medications lost due to widespread and prolonged power outages in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias. In a letter to the company's executives, Pallone called on the company to provide the reimbursements in light of its failure to adequately respond to the widespread power outages. As a result of the storm, an estimated 1.4 million residents in New Jersey lost power, including 788,000 JCP&L customers.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) led the entire New Jersey delegation in the U.S. of Representatives in demanding that the Trump Administration reverse its decision to cut federal funding for the National Guard. In a letter to Department of Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, the Members expressed concern about the Trump Administration's decision to end full federal support for the National Guard.

August 7, 2020

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today blasted Jersey Central Power and Light (JCP&L), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corporation, for its "abysmal" response to electric power outages in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias. As of 4 pm yesterday, more than 289,000 people in JCP&L's territory remained without power, and it may take until August 11 — a full week after the storm — to restore power to most of those customers.

Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) and Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-3) led their New Jersey colleagues in a bipartisan letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy today calling for funding to help the fishing industry in the next coronavirus relief package. A decline in tourism and a reduction in restaurant operations have been deeply harmful to New Jersey's fishing industry. The pandemic also arrived in New Jersey at the start of the critically important Striped Bass and Black Fish season.

Washington, DC – Representatives Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), and Andy Kim (NJ-03) today applauded House passage of an appropriations bill that provides relief for families currently required to pay back disaster relief funds they received after Superstorm Sandy. Many homeowners who received relief funds have been required to repay some or all the funds, creating a financial burden during a time of economic crisis.

Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced today that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a contract for the dredging of Cheesequake Creek. Work is expected to begin as early as August and take one month to complete. In February, Pallone announced securing the $4.1 million in federal funding necessary for the project.
