Washington, D.C. --- The U.S. House of Representatives approved a funding bill for Fiscal Year (FY) 2005 today that includes funds for the continuation of critical shore protection projects in Monmouth County, said U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ).

Pallone officially requested the funding for shore projects above the Bush Administration's requests in a letter to House Energy and Water Development Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman David Hobson (R-OH) in March. The spending bill now goes to the Senate. Fiscal Year 2005 officially begins on October 1, 2004.

Jim Ramstad (R-MN) today at a press conference on Capitol Hill to announce the formation of a Congressional Caucus that will focus on raising awareness about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). The two co-chairmen of the Congressional Caucus on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders were joined by other children's health organizations in also releasing a report detailing the continuing negative effects drinking by pregnant women can have on their children.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today introduced a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives expressing the sense of Congress that a commemorative postage stamp should be issued to promote public awareness of Chrohn's disease.

Washington, D.C. --- Fift y-three Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives today called on the Bush administration to investigate whether increased market consolidation in the oil industry has resulted in price gouging or other anticompetitive activities. The formal request was made in a letter to Attorney General John Ashcroft and U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairman Timothy J. Muris.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Senators Jon S. Corzine (D-NJ), Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today called on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to restore funding to and complete clean up of the Chemical Insecticide Corporation (CIC) Superfund site in Edison. The New Jersey lawmakers' request follows recent reports that cleanup operations at the site have been delayed because of a lack of funding.
