Washington, DC -- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), introduced legislation last week entitled the Dean Gallo Cancer Patient Compassion Act of 2006 that would waive the 24 month Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) waiting period for terminal cancer patients who are uninsured. The legislation, HR 5615, is named in memory of former New Jersey Congressman Dean Gallo, who passed away in 1994 after a battle with prostate cancer.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today joined New Jersey HIV/AIDS patients, activists, health care providers and state officials to decry legislation to reauthorize the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act that would disproportionately impact New Jersey HIV/AIDS patients.

Washington, D.C. --- The U.S. House of Representatives yesterday passed an appropriations bill that includes language authored by U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) encouraging the Surface Transportation Board (STB) to clarify that waste transfer stations on railroad properties should be subject to the same laws and regulations as other solid waste facilities.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today announced that he has secured $300,000 in federal funds to support construction of the second phase of the South Amboy Intermodal transportation project. The funding will provide for the construction of high-level platforms at the South Amboy train station.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Joe Knollenberg (R-MI), co-chairmen of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, today sent letters to 32 Armenian organizations inviting them to join the co-chairs in cosponsoring a unified Capitol Hill event to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
