Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ),co- chairman of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues, gave the following statement on the floor of the United States House of Representatives about the incorrect representation of Armenia and Nagorno Karabagh in the U.S. Department of State's 2006 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices.

Bradley Beach, NJ --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) today assailed a new Bush administration plan that would expand offshore drilling in the Atlantic Ocean and vowed to fight, as he has in the past, to prevent Congress from approving this ill-advised plan. The New Jersey congressman also joined 11 members of the New Jersey congressional delegation in sending a letter to President Bush urging that he direct U.S. Secretary of Interior Dirk Kempthorne to remove the portion of the plan relating to Virginia.

Washington, D.C. --- Twelve members of the New Jersey congressional delegation sent a letter today to President Bush urging that he direct U.S. Secretary of Interior Dirk Kempthorne to remove a portion of an offshore drilling plan related to oil and gas drilling off the coast of Virginia.

Washington, D.C. --- U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Joseph Knollenberg (R-MI) today sent the following letter to Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice regarding recent human rights misrepresentations about Armenia and Nagorno Karabagh. The State Departments 2006 Human Rights Report, in its sections dealing with Armenia and Azerbaijan, mischaracterized Armenia as an occupier of Azerbaijani territory.
