Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), founder and co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Sri Lanka, introduced a resolution in the House this week expressing the serious concern of Congress regarding the worsening situation in Sri Lanka. The New Jersey congressman was joined by his co-chair on the Caucus, U.S. Rep. Jerry Weller (R-IL), in introducing this bill.

Jersey City, NJ -- After touring the Jersey City Medical Center, a facility which provides medical services to a large population of uninsured children, U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Albio Sires (D-NJ) today said they are working in Washington to strengthen the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), known in New Jersey as FamilyCare, so that it would reach thousands of more uninsured children in New Jersey.

Washington, D.C. – Committee leaders responded today to a new report issued by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that ignores widely accepted data indicating that six million uninsured children are eligible to participate in the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) or Medicaid. The HHS report asserts that there are approximately one million eligible but uninsured children nationwide, an estimate six times lower than what the leading research indicates.

Washington, D.C. – The Senate Judiciary Committee today voted on and passed gang legislation introduced by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), which is closely tied to the Fighting Gangs and Empowering Youth Act of 2007 introduced by Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ) and co-sponsored by Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ).
