Frank Pallone, Jr. joined with the New Jersey Anti Hunger Coalition and Assemblyman Gary Schaer on Tuesday to urge Governor Chris Christie to refrain from cutting state funds from the popular school lunch program, saying the state cut will result in the substantial loss of federal funds.

The U.S. House has approved the Wall St. Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The U.S. Senate is considering a similar bill.

Changes to state prescription drug programs for seniors and to FamilyCare, the joint state and federal program that provides health coverage for needy families, will result in higher costs, fewer people taking advantage of the services and the loss of federal funds.
