WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) Thursday was sworn in to the 113th Congress. First elected in 1988, today marks the beginning of Pallone’s 13th term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

WASHINGTON D.C.—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to the chair and ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee and Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies today requesting that federal fisheries disaster funding be included in any supplemental disaster funding to assist states affected by Superstorm Sandy. Congressman Pallone’s coastal New Jersey district suffered severe damage from the storm, and many fisheries located within the district are not operational as a result.
WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium (NJSGC) was awarded $471,500 for research, extension and education programs on coastal issues. Sea Grant is a nationwide network administered through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of 32 university-based programs that work with coastal communities.

WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) sent a letter to National Park Service (NPS) Director Jon Jarvis yesterday urging that the agency provide adequate resources to Sandy Hook as it recovers and rebuilds from the devastating impact of Superstorm Sandy. Sandy Hook’s infrastructure suffered critical damage from the storm, and Pallone requested that the park receive the Park Service’s full support to rebuild in time for the summer season.

D.C.—Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) released the following statement today in response to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s decision to veto the health care exchange law passed earlier this year by the state legislature. A critical part of the Affordable Care Act includes the creation of health care exchanges to establish a marketplace for the purchase of affordable health insurance plans. States were meant to tailor their specific needs to a state-based exchange, but those who opt out will be obligated to have the federal government run an exchange for them.
