WASHINGTON, DCCongressman Frank Pallone (NJ-6) today announced a grant award through the National Institutes of Health to Rutgers University to provide over $351,000 for cancer research. The grant will support research designed to develop an understanding of what makes certain faulty genes lead to the development of breast cancer. A better understanding of these genes could lead to treatments that are minimally invasive, yet effective in preventing the onset of cancer.

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6) announced that the Middlesex County Utilities Authority will receive more than $1.14 million to repair the Sayreville Sewerage Pump Station, which was badly damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The funding is being provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) via the Sandy aid package Pallone fought for in Congress.

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6) announced the start of a federally funded beach replenishment project covering the area stretching from Philips Avenue in southern Deal to Loch Arbour. The project will begin this week, and Congressman Pallone will be visiting the site, at the Allenhurst Beach Club, 1A Allen Ave., Allenhurst, NJ, on Friday, April 17 at 12:30 p.m. with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as well as state and local officials.

742,000 Students in NJ Would Benefit from Student Loan Refinancing Bill

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJCongressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6) hosted a roundtable discussion with student leaders at Rutgers University today to talk about the challenges that so many undergraduate and graduate students face attempting to finance their education. Congressman Pallone heard from current students and also discussed ongoing efforts at the federal level to lighten the burden of student debt and enable more young people to pursue higher education.
