NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ– Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) held a sit-in and conversation on gun violence in his New Brunswick office with his constituents, local elected officials and advocates for reducing gun violence. The event was a continuation of the sit-in held on the floor of the House of Representatives last week, which lasted 26 hours. Attendees voicing their support for action to reduce gun violence included Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz, Highland Park Councilman Jim Walsh and representatives from the NJ State Nursing Association, NJ Cease Fire and the Brady Campaign.
Washington, DC --- Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities at Rutgers University has received a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disorders (LEND) Training Program grant totaling $2,200,000 over five years. The Health Resources and Service Administration grant will be put towards the Center’s crucial work on developmental disabilities, including autism. The grant will also help the Boggs center in its work in outreach to minority communities, which are often underserved.
Long Branch, NJ –Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Choice Neighborhoods Initiative will award Asbury Park with $500,000 in Federal Grants aimed at revitalizing the West Side in Asbury Park. The funds will allow Asbury Park’s West Side to cultivate affordable housing and economic growth.
Long Branch, NJ – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced more than $5 million in grants to the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority (BRSA) from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to assist in the recovery from Hurricane Sandy. The grants will help repair BRSA’s main pumping station and Dewatering/Incineration building.
