WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services will receive $11,494,745 to support home visiting services to pregnant women and parents with young children. These funds are part of a broader effort to support the healthy development and well-being of children living in areas with high rates of low birth weight, teen pregnancy, infant mortality and poverty.

Bill Ensures CHIP Coverage for Millions of Children through 2019
WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Representative Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06), the Ranking Member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, joined Representatives Suzan DelBene (WA-1) and Ron Kind (WI-03) to introduce legislation that expands tax credits for small businesses, created under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), in order to allow more employers to offer health insurance to their workers. Pallone has introduced this bill during the last two sessions of Congress.
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that Rutgers University has been awarded $550,000 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to continue ongoing research to identify and evaluate changes in the number of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities in the state of New Jersey. The CDC suggests that 1 in 68 school age child in the United States is living with autism. However, in New Jersey, that number is 1 in every 45.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) joined several of his colleagues in calling on Rutgers University and 17 other universities to protect the health of their students by ending practices that allow them to use university debit cards to pay for indoor tanning. In light of Congressman Pallone’s letter, Rutgers University intends to end the practice of allowing their students’ debit cards to pay for indoor tanning by January 1, 2015, and he hopes other universities follow suit.
