Washington, DC --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), a member of the House Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife and Oceans, introduced legislation yesterday that would prohibit the commercial harvesting of blackfish, also known as tautog, in the coastal waters and the exclusive economic zone of the United States in order to enable coastal populations to return to historical abundances.

Yesterday an influential Republican voice on foreign affairs admitted that the war in Iraq is doing more harm than good, and that "our course in Iraq has lost contact with our vital national security interests in the Middle East and beyond."

Those are the words of Republican Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana, who went to the Senate floor last night to say that changes in strategy need to be made BEFORE September.

Jersey City, NJ -- After touring the Jersey City Medical Center, a facility which provides medical services to a large population of uninsured children, U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Albio Sires (D-NJ) today said they are working in Washington to strengthen the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), known in New Jersey as FamilyCare, so that it would reach thousands of more uninsured children in New Jersey.
